A Peaceful Escape in Celebration, Florida
Looking for a relaxing evening away from the theme park crowds—no long lines, no noise, just peaceful small-town charm? Spend an evening in Celebration, Florida, a thoughtfully designed community created to reflect the nostalgic warmth of classic American towns. And don’t worry—there are zero strip malls here. Just beautiful architecture, tree-lined streets, and quiet places to unwind.
What Is Celebration?
Celebration was originally developed by The Walt Disney Company, designed to reflect Disney’s commitment to storytelling, charm, and meticulous planning. Disney oversaw everything from architecture and landscaping to school and community guidelines. Homes were built in early 20th-century and Victorian styles with hints of Caribbean influence, ensuring no two neighboring houses look the same.
Celebration’s master architect, Robert A.M. Stern, is known for his New Urbanist approach and also designed several iconic Disney resorts including Disney’s Yacht Club, Beach Club, BoardWalk, and the Casting Center.
Although Disney sold most of its interest in 2004, the company still owns property in town and operates local utilities. Celebration remains an unincorporated community within Kissimmee, with about 7,500 residents and a reputation for being clean, walkable, and peaceful.
Exploring Celebration Town Center

Celebration’s picturesque Town Center centers around Market Street and Front Street, both lined with restaurants, boutiques, shaded walkways, and cafés. The most convenient parking is behind the SunTrust building via Sycamore Street.
You’ll find everything from casual pizza to upscale dining, Japanese cuisine, cafés, and sweet shops. Browse for clothing, jewelry, gifts, or pick up a treat for your pup at Wolf Gang Bakery. And don’t skip Le Macaron—their pastries and gelato are local favorites.
Things to Do Besides Shopping
Celebration offers plenty to enjoy even if shopping isn’t your thing:
- Stroll around Lake Rianhard and look for birds, turtles, and even the occasional alligator
- Rent a bike and explore the town’s scenic pathways
- Visit the Farmer’s Market every Sunday morning
- Attend a church service at one of six local churches
- Cool off in the splash fountain near Celebration Lakeside Park
- Relax in the rocking chairs along the lakefront
- Enjoy a salon day with nearby spas, nail salons, and barbers
- Play a round at Celebration Golf Club
Annual Events Worth Visiting
Celebration hosts numerous events throughout the year—including art festivals, exotic car shows, food events, and Oktoberfest. Some events are for residents only, so it’s best to check the official calendar before visiting.
Now Snowing Nightly
A favorite holiday tradition, Now Snowing Nightly transforms Celebration into a winter wonderland every December. Snow falls every hour on Market Street, while ice skating, carriage rides, train rides, and photos with Santa make it feel magical—Florida style.
