If you’re seeking a unique experience in Sunny Florida, why not immerse yourself in the local charm? Recently, my husband and I stumbled upon Southern Hill Farms nestled just off Rt 27 in Clermont. As luck would have it, we visited during the peak of strawberry season. We were pleasantly surprised to also have the opportunity to handpick broccolini, onions, sunflowers, and lettuce. Kale, spinach, cauliflower, and broccoli were also available to pick.
Following our fruitful harvest, we treated ourselves to a delightful meal of pizza and frozen lemonade under the covered pavilion, while listening to live music. In the distance, kids were happily playing in the agricultural-themed playground. The farm’s gift store boasts an array of local jams, body scrubs, and other delightful souvenirs, making it the perfect spot to pick up a memento of your day spent living like a Floridian.
Depending on the time of year, Southern Hill Farms offers u-pick strawberries, blueberries, peaches, sunflowers, zinnias, and a variety of veggies.
